Gordon Brown announces Ordnance Survey Mapping to be free on-line

After a three year campaign by The Guardian newspaper and free-our-data, Gordon Brown has announced that the Southampton based, Ordnance Survey will be 'opened up'. The mid-scale mapping and upwards are the areas initially targetted to be available on-line and free even for commercial use by this radical new initiative.
