‘‘Making a Difference? Addressing the same problem with different mediation models’
Andrew Goodman Convenor of SCMA & Professor of Conflict Management and
Dispute Resolution Studies, Rushmore University. An accredited CEDR mediator since 1993
practising in commercial, construction, partnership, franchising, professional negligence and
farming disputes at 1 Chancery Lane. Andrew is a leading trainer of mediation advocacy
practicing worldwide, advising judiciaries and ministries of justice on mediation. His
exceptional experience in the field of ADR guarantees that you will be involved in his
workshop – one way or other! This will be a great group learning experience which is aimed
at honing your skills in dispute resolution.

‘Engaging with Anger’
Julian Hall With more than 20 years experience working in challenging corporate
environments and dealing with change programmes, Julian has gained extensive experience
in counselling, facilitation and training techniques. Julian is an experienced and qualified
practitioner of established coaching tools such as Myers Briggs. His work encompasses
everything from delivering workshops on how to identify and beat your anger, to helping
individuals to combat stress by improving their emotional resilience. Julian’s most recent
projects include helping teachers and carers in Rochdale understand anger, working with
adults with learning difficulties, working with addiction centres and developing bespoke
programmes for companies with call centres.

'Working with Groups’
Iain Christie is a barrister, mediator and actor. After 10 years as a legal adviser in HM
Diplomatic Service, he joined 5RB, the media and entertainment law chambers. He is coeditor
of Tugendhat & Christie: The Law of Privacy and the Media (OUP). Iain is an
accredited civil and commercial, family and workplace mediator and works with couples,
individuals and organizations to resolve disputes. He now combines his legal and mediation
practice with some professional performance and presenting work. This session will be
interactive and cover group conflicts.
