Laura Sutton is a senior adviser who has been working in the property industry for over 23 years and has significant experience in transactional, professional and consultancy areas of work, predominantly within the commercial property sectors.

She has worked with a wide range of clients, from funds to developers, landowners to occupiers, dealing with many other representatives and professionals in the process. Much of her expertise is in the field of communication and negotiation to create effective agreements.

She has an open and direct approach, is experienced in challenging the problems that are creating deadlock and identifying alternative strategies to provide workable solutions betweenparties.

She is Chair of a small charity, having previously resided as a Trustee for several years, which supports families with children affected by a particular medical condition. This role requires financial and personnel management as well as excellent communication skills.

Mediation Experience

Laura has the following mediation experience

Planning Viability - appointed as panel mediator by Department of Communities and Local Government in 2012 to assist and mediate between developers and local authorities where s.106 agreement liabilities have created unviable development. This has resulted in mediating on a substantial residential development in the south east with multiple parties over multiple sessions. 

Compulsory Purchase - claim dispute between a local authority and an affected party in the south east.

Civil Contract - dispute between a main contractor and sub contractor in respect of multiples of work streams, quality of workmanship and outstanding payments due.

Landlord and Tenant - dispute between parties regarding access arrangements, right of way and loss of income resulting.

Engineering Contract - dispute between corporate and supplier within the industrial sector reference quality of manuals supplied as part of the contract and costs subsequently incurred. 




Laura has 20 years experience in commercial property consultancy, acting for Landowners, Developers, Funds and Occupiers. Her expertise includes transacting strategic development sites, sourcing development partners and advising occupiers on site acquisitions and bespoke development.
