Mediation Experience

Mediation Experience:

Although always a "Dispute Solver" within his profession, Robert first became involved in mediation formally in 2002 when he took the Christian Mediation and Arbitration Service's course, primarily (but not exclusively) for resolving disputes within the church community.  This training was put to good use shortly afterwards resolving a dispute between an engineer and an architect on a substantial office redevelopment project in Bath. This was followed by an employment dispute in an aviation environment.

Most of Robert's dispute resolution work has been in the commercial property area in which he has been in practice since 1976.  Although his professional background in commercial property may be particularly helpful in respect of disputes in these areas, the Mediation skill and training is highly transferrable and can be applied to all manner of commercial and personal disputes.

He took the Mediation Accreditation course of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and was formally accredited in December 2009.  Since then, Robert's experience in mediations has been in largely property and commercial contract matters.

Outside interests include wife and 2 very musical adult daughters, a Dalmatian and a Duo Discus 2 seat high performance 20m glider.

Robert is Vice Chairman of the British Gliding Association, a past chairman of the London Gliding Club and is President of the Luton Someries Rotary Club.

He has also travelled extensively in Peru in support of street boy and medical projects

Robert is an RICS Accredited mediator and a member of the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates (SCMA)
