Scope:

Learning methods to avoid or reduce conflict within your business or in dealings with others, thereby reducing both the practical and commercial risk of disputes arising or getting out of control, and saving concomitant legal spend and management time.


Objective:

Understanding the psychology of conflict, and its positive as well as negative attributes. Developing personal communication skills to avoid and contain conflict. Applying management controls in running arbitration, litigation, adjudication and mediation.

  • drivers and controls;
  • using conflict as a force for good;
  • methods of dealing with conflict;
  • dealing with difficult people and conversations;
  • active listening, acknowledgment and understanding;
  • the problem with using an orthodox legal approach;
  • personal empowerment in dispute management.
